Data API

Programmatic access to air pollution forecasts and mortality data for registered users.

Non-Commercial Use Only: Our data are provided for non-commercial research and public-interest purposes only, and cannot be used for commercial purposes.

Authentication

All endpoints require a Bearer token obtained by logging in. Pass it in every request header:

Forecast Data

Historical and current global air pollution forecasts at 0.1° resolution (GeoTIFF, EPSG:4326, coverage: 56°S–84°N). A new model run is produced daily; all historical runs remain available for download.

Time zone: All dates and timestamps are in UTC.
Update schedule: New forecast data is published daily between 12:00 am and 2:00 am UTC. Data may be temporarily unavailable during this window.
GET /api/forecast List all available model run dates
GET /api/forecast/:run_date List forecast dates and pollutants for one model run
GET /api/forecast/:run_date/:pollutant/:forecast_date Download a GeoTIFF for a specific run, pollutant, and forecast date

Mortality Data

Attributable deaths, attributable fraction, and mortality rates by country, region, and globally. Years: 2000–2019 (coldwave: 2001–2019).

About this Project

A comprehensive environmental health monitoring system for real-time forecasting and assessment

Climate, Air Quality Research Team

This project, developed by the Climate, Air Quality Research (CARE) group at Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, goes beyond traditional air quality monitoring. Our research team is dedicated to advancing understanding of environmental exposures including air quality, climate impacts, and other environmental health determinants. We develop innovative forecasting models and real-time monitoring solutions to help communities understand and respond to environmental health challenges. Through our platform, users can visualize global air pollution patterns, access forecasts, and gain insights into how environmental exposures affect public health. We collaborate with government agencies, health organizations, and communities to translate research into actionable insights that improve environmental health outcomes.
